Welcome from the Head Teacher
Welcome to Golcar JIN’s website. I am really proud of our great Golcar school and would like to show you what we have to offer.
We are a large primary school, which is full to the brim with amazing children and staff. We can take 60 children per year group and we have a nursery on site too which enables our youngest children (3 year olds) time to get school ready and begin their journey with us.
We have a vast school site with lots of sports facilities and a wonderful forest and pond area we use to explore and investigate. We are a ‘sporty ‘school who love our PE lessons and we enjoy a challenge. We are ambitious and competitive when we attend tournaments and sports events.
Our curriculum is ever-evolving and we weave Golcar history and geography in to learning so the children know about their village and town. We love to get practical and explore in science, design technology and art lessons. We study religious education and personal, social, health and economic education to ensure our children learn how to be their ‘best selves’ and respect and understand each other and the world around them. Our oldest children begin to learn French. We use digital technology to enhance our learning and know how to keep ourselves safe online. We want learning to be fun and engaging and try hard to develop inquisitiveness and a thirst for knowledge. We value academic achievement in maths and English as well as personal development and prepare children well for their next step in education.

We will use our Super 7 behaviour charter to ensure children work with dignity, fairness an inclusion.
We will use our DREAM (Decisions, Resilience, Exploration, Ambition and Me) analogy to teach children that their Decisions are important for their environment, their community and themselves.
We use our online safety curriculum to ensure our children can make safe decisions, particularly online.
We will ensure we bring hearts and minds together and use our DREAM analogy to teach children how important connection and mutual respect are.
