Personal Development

Personal Development across Impact

At Impact we put personal development at the forefront of everything we do. We believe it is vital in primary schools because it helps children build essential life skills, such as self-confidence, emotional intelligence, and resilience, at an early age. By focusing on personal growth alongside academics, schools equip students with the ability to navigate challenges, form healthy relationships, and make positive decisions. These foundational skills not only support their learning but also foster a strong sense of self-awareness and a growth mindset, which are crucial for success in later stages of life.

Tournaments

At Impact we have a full and varied tournament calendar for all our primary schools. A variety of sporting tournaments for primary school children is important because it allows children with different abilities and interests to participate, ensuring inclusivity and engagement. This helps to develop a range of physical skills, from coordination to endurance, while also teaching teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience. Different tournaments expose children to new sports, encouraging them to discover passions and develop healthy habits for life. See the link below to view full calendar.

Family Trips

During four of the school holidays, we organise family trips for all our primary schools. This enables the families the opportunity to have affordable days out together. Each school gets one trip per holiday. The families get picked up at school taken to their destination and get dropped back at school at the end of the day. See the link below to view full calendar.

Residentials

All our schools have full residentials programmes. Residential trips are important for primary school children because they promote independence, teamwork, and social skills while offering hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom. These trips build confidence, resilience, and a sense of adventure, enriching personal and educational development in a memorable way. See the link below to view full calendar.

and rehearsing an abridged play, working collaboratively towards a live performance for an invited audience at a professional theatre. With a focus on enhancing spoken English skills and developing stagecraft fundamentals, the programme combines the study of classic texts with the creation of original theatrical pieces. Each week, groups of students participate in guided sessions, culminating in a performance in a Festival event which celebrates students achievements.

Take one picture

Take One Picture is a programme for primary schools, run by The National Gallery.  It aims to inspire a lifelong love of art and learning.Every year,  they take one picture from the collection to inspire cross-curricular work in primary classrooms. Our schools take part in this inspiring art project during the summer term. There is an opportunity to enter quality work produced as it may get selected and exhibited at the National Gallery in their annual take one picture exhibition.
